Choosing Images to Edit
As an artist, it is the photographer's job to choose the final images that will be presented to the client and added to the photographer's portfolio. During a photo shoot you will hear many shutter clicks, and afterward it may seem like you are only receiving a fraction of what you heard me take. The reason for this is that I am constantly making as many adjustments as possible to make sure I can get photos with no blinking eyes, no crazy flying hair, good lighting, and great in-camera settings. Although these images are a necessary part of the process of making in-camera art, they are only rough drafts. We may try a variety of different poses and backgrounds, but only use some of those images. The reason for that is to be able to find the ones that worked the best. The images I capture are all in what is called raw color format, so adjustments still need to be made after the image is downloaded to my computer. When looking at all of the images from the shoot, I look for the images that are the best- the real works of art. I may make small adjustments to them, like lighting and color corrections before showing you the proofs to choose from. Depending on which package you chose, your session will come with a specific amount of photographs that you may select for me to fully edit (blemish removal, eye brighten, background softening, object removing, etc). Once those favorite shots have been accumulated, I take them through two different editing software and spend a great deal of time working on them to correct any imperfections and make the image up to my artistic standards.
I do not release any images that are not included with my set of final images, because they were not created or intended to be final products- they were there to help work out the kinks in order to ensure you received quality images.
